Lawrence Gabriel Kuntu Blankson

Lawrence Gabriel Kuntu Blankson is a dynamic Ghanaian visual artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and graphic design, grounded in a deep commitment to creative expression and education. As a painter and sculptor, Lawrence explores form, texture, symbolism, and narrative—drawing inspiration from culture, identity, collective memory, and the evolving human experience. His work blends traditional techniques with contemporary approaches, often experimenting with the integration of hatching and linear methods into painting to create rhythm, energy, and unique tactile depth.

A graduate-in-training from the University of Education, Winneba, Lawrence is specializing in Painting and Sculpture, where his artistic research interrogates the intersection of drawing and painting as a unified visual language. His collaborative contributions include the celebrated mural project “Emancipation from Imperialism,” which showcased his ability to translate complex themes into powerful visual storytelling.

Beyond the studio, Lawrence is an emerging art educator, facilitator, and creative collaborator. He is committed to shaping future artists and building creative confidence in young learners. His work as a graphic designer and creative media officer strengthens visual communication within artistic and community-centered initiatives.

Currently serving as a Student Teacher at Adisadel College, Lawrence brings passion, artistry, and innovation into the classroom—bridging traditional foundations with contemporary creative practice. His dedication to learning, mentorship, and cultural expression reflects his belief that art is not only a skill but a transformative tool for personal and societal growth.

Driven, reflective, and steadily rising, Lawrence continues to evolve his craft while contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s vibrant creative landscape..
