About us

A Global Creative Foundation for Art, Culture, Research, and Human Expression

Partners & Collaborators

Art in the Round is a non-profit creative foundation

dedicated to empowering artists, advancing art education, strengthening communities, and promoting art-based research.

We believe that creativity is a human necessity — a force that shapes identity, inspires belonging, enhances wellbeing, and drives innovation across cultures.
Our work brings together artists, educators, researchers, and community leaders across the world. We exist to create spaces where art becomes a tool for learning, healing, connection, and sustainable development.

Our Vision

To build a global creative community where art connects people, empowers talent, preserves culture, and inspires human development.

Our Mission

To celebrate art, support artists, nurture creative talent, advance artistic research, and foster cultural exchange through inclusive programs that empower individuals, strengthen communities, and promote equality for marginalized groups, girls, and people living with disabilities.

Culture opens our hearts, art opens our minds, and together they help us imagine a better future.

Yo-Yo Ma

Our Work

Through art, education, research, and community engagement, we design programs that unlock creative potential, strengthen cultural identity, and empower people of all ages and abilities to thrive.

Artist Support & Creative Development

We provide opportunities for artists through exhibitions, mentorship, residencies, and our Featured Artist Program. Our goal is to elevate diverse creative voices, including underrepresented and marginalized artists, and support sustainable artistic careers

Art Education & Creative Learning

Through workshops, community projects, and school-based programs, we integrate artistic thinking into learning. We champion cross-disciplinary approaches that merge art with science, technology, mathematics, wellbeing, and critical thinking, ensuring inclusive access for all learners, including girls and persons with disabilities.

Art-Based Research & Knowledge Production

We conduct and support research into creativity, education, cultural identity, artistic development, and community wellbeing. Our methodology values visual inquiry, creative experimentation, and evidence-based storytelling, creating knowledge that informs inclusive and transformative practices.

Community Engagement & Cultural Exchange

We design programs that use art to strengthen community identity, address social issues, promote mental health, and celebrate cultural heritage. Global partnerships foster cultural exchange, creative collaboration, and equitable participation.

Global Partnerships & Sustainable Development

Art in the Round aligns its work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

Community — building connection and belonging.
Culture — honoring traditions, identity, and heritage.
Research — creating knowledge through creative inquiry.
Empowerment — supporting people to discover and use their creative voice.
Integrity — leading with transparency, purpose, and accountability.
Inclusivity — ensuring everyone, including marginalized groups and persons living with disabilities, feels seen, valued, and represented.

Our Story

Art in the Round began with a shared belief that art can illuminate lives, heal communities, and connect cultures. Founded by creatives passionate about education, culture, and human development, the foundation has grown into a global platform celebrating artistic talent and using creativity as a tool for social impact, inclusion, and sustainable development.
From local classrooms to international collaborations, we continue to build a global creative community dedicated to expression, empowerment, and equitable opportunities for all.

The Philosophy: The Round

“Art in the Round” represents a deeper philosophy:
A circle symbolizes unity, completeness, connection.
Everyone; artists, learners, educators, researchers, youth, elders has a place in the circle.
Art is not linear; it is expansive, diverse, and limitless.
• Creativity belongs to all humans, not a privileged few.

The Round stands for:
– Inclusion and equitable access
– Global connection and cultural exchange
– Equal value of all artists and learners
– Communal learning and collaborative growth
– Continuous personal, creative, and community development
