Spotlight: Joshua Becomes the youngers member of the Ghana Edtech Alliance

Joshua delivered his first formal presentation before senior professionals, education specialists, and government-affiliated leaders at the T-TEL headquarters in East Legon. In a room filled with national influencers shaping Ghana’s education future, he confidently demonstrated the AI-powered educational platform he built from scratch—a project that continues to spark national interest.

Representatives from the Ghana EdTech Alliance were also present, and deeply impressed by his talent, they officially recognized Joshua as their youngest member, an unprecedented milestone in the country’s EdTech ecosystem.
This moment stands as a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when young potential is nurtured, mentored, and given a platform. For us at Art in the Round, Joshua’s journey affirms our mission: to identify hidden genius, empower young innovators, and support creativity-driven solutions that transform communities and shape the future.

Spotlight Project: Joshua’s Journey of Innovation

Joshua’s story marks the beginning of Art in the Round’s commitment to discovering and nurturing hidden talent. At just 16 years old, and without any formal training in technology, Joshua designed and built an AI-powered educational platform that is now influencing conversations across Ghana. His brilliance was uncovered through mentorship, creativity-based guidance, and a learning environment that allowed his potential to emerge naturally.

As our first official project, Joshua’s journey reflects the core of our mission: to identify overlooked talent, support young innovators, and empower creativity as a driver of sustainable development and social transformation. His success is a prove to what becomes possible when learners are truly seen, supported, and believed in.

Art in the Round Celebrates Spark Creativity Award Winner

Art in the Round proudly shares that Samuel Ohene-Sarfo has been named the Winner of the Spark Creativity Award 2025, an article-writing competition organised by the Art Journal Foundation and supported by the Liferarian Association.

His award-winning article, titled “Silenced by Peers: The Adolescent Art Crisis in the Classroom,” explores the complex social pressures that suppress creative expression among young learners, and offers critical insights into the role of educators in nurturing artistic confidence and resilience.
This achievement reflects the foundation’s core commitment to elevating art-based research, strengthening arts education, and empowering the next generation of creative thinkers. Samuel’s work continues to inspire young artists, teachers, and researchers across Africa and beyond.

Spotlight: ICTE 2025 Aesthetic Education Award

Art in the Round is pleased to announce that our founder, Samuel Ohene-Sarfo, has been honoured at the International Conference for Transformative Education (ICTE 2025) this November, receiving a distinguished award for his contribution to Aesthetic Education for Global Solidarity.

This recognition highlights Samuel’s ongoing commitment to advancing art as a vital pathway for understanding, empathy, and human connection across cultures. His work—rooted in artistic inquiry, developmental research, and creative pedagogy—continues to influence educational conversations both locally and globally. At Art in the Round, we see this achievement as a strong affirmation of our mission. It reinforces our belief that art is not merely a practice but a powerful lens through which education, community, and human development can be reimagined. Samuel’s award reflects the depth with which our organization approaches education—artistically, strategically, and with a commitment to global solidarity.
This milestone inspires us to further strengthen our impact pillars, support emerging talent, and lead transformative conversations at the intersection of art, learning, and innovation.

Samuel Presents at ICTE 2025 – Art as the Foundation of Learning

At ICTE 2025, Samuel delivered a powerful presentation titled “Art as the Foundation of Learning: Rediscovering Expression in the Early Years.” His session explored how early drawing, creative play, and sensory expression shape cognitive, emotional, and social development in children.

Through insights drawn from ongoing art-based research and real classroom evidence, Samuel highlighted the urgent need to restore creativity in early childhood education—where expression forms the basis for confidence, problem-solving, and lifelong learning.
His presentation reinforces the core mission of Art in the Round: to elevate art as a fundamental pathway to learning, shaping policy, practice, and community transformation.

Joshua Wins Best Science & Innovation Award at Ghana Senior High School’s 82nd Anniversary

Art in the Round is proud to celebrate one of our brightest young collaborators, Joshua, who was honored with the Best Science and Innovation Award 2025 during the 82nd Anniversary Celebration of Ghana Senior High School (Ghanass).

Joshua’s achievement is a powerful testament to the transformative potential of creativity, curiosity, and the fearless spirit of young innovators. As a key contributor to the early engineering of the LearnBridge Edu platform, Joshua demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills, technical insight, and a level of initiative far beyond his years.
His recognition at this prestigious school event reinforces what we at Art in the Round deeply believe — that innovation flourishes where imagination meets opportunity. Joshua represents the new generation of thinkers who are not only shaping the future of science and technology but also redefining what young people are capable of when given the right mentorship and encouragement.
We celebrate Joshua’s remarkable accomplishment and look forward to supporting his continued growth as an innovator, leader, and inspiration to his peers.
Congratulations, Joshua — your journey is just beginning, and the world is ready for your brilliance.

Prof. Charles Adabo Oppong Commends LearnBridge Innovation, Pledges Support for AI Training

At the 82nd Anniversary Celebration of Ghana Senior High School, Prof. Charles Adabo Oppong —Director in Charge of Grievances and Negotiations at the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and Chairman of the Occasion — expressed profound admiration for the innovative strides taking place within the school’s creative and technological ecosystem.

After witnessing the presentation of the LearnBridge system and its impact on student engagement and innovation, Prof. Oppong warmly congratulated the team, describing the initiative as timely, relevant, and essential for the future of education in Ghana.
He emphasized that integrating AI and digital tools into secondary education is no longer optional, but a necessary foundation for preparing learners for global opportunities. Impressed by the talent and dedication displayed, he made a significant commitment:
“I am fully dedicated to supporting this initiative. We will set up a committee to train more of our learners in Artificial Intelligence.”
— Prof. Charles Adabo Oppong
His remarks were met with enthusiasm, underscoring the importance of partnerships between education leaders, innovators, and national institutions.
This commitment marks a meaningful step toward strengthening AI literacy and empowering young people with the skills needed to thrive in a fast-evolving world. Art in the Round celebrates this endorsement as a catalyst for deeper collaboration and expanded opportunities for learners across Ghana.

A Defining Moment for LearnBridge Edu

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for LearnBridge as our team had the rare opportunity to engage with Miracule D. Gavor, PhD — the principal architect of Ghana’s Standards-Based Curriculum and the CEO of the Ghana Society for Education Technology.

What stood out most was his remarkable humility and openness. Despite his national influence in education reform, Dr. Gavor welcomed us with warmth and shared deep, transformative insights that sharpened our vision for learner-centered education.
During the discussion, Dr. Gavor clarified the core philosophy of the SBC:
the learner is the standard.
He emphasized that because every learner has unique potential, the curriculum is intentionally designed as a flexible framework that empowers teachers to tailor instruction to their students’ abilities and pace of growth.
He also offered practical guidance on strengthening LearnBridge’s systems, aligning our tools more effectively with competency-based outcomes, and scaling our impact in today’s evolving learning environment.
Yesterday, we didn’t just meet a leader.
We met a mentor, a visionary, and a nation-builder — and we left more inspired, focused, and determined than ever.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX: Building Purpose Beyond the Classroom

PROGRAM RECAP: A Powerful Success!
Today’s session at Ghana Senior High School was nothing short of transformational.

48 students joined us on campus, alongside 8 virtual participants, for a dynamic and eye-opening conversation on building purpose, thinking beyond the classroom, and stepping boldly into the future.
What made this program truly special were the voices and experiences of our exceptional speakers:

🎙 Elvis Kusi — A Living Example of Thinking Beyond the Box
Speaking all the way from the USA, Elvis shared a deeply inspiring journey that began in the same classrooms these students sit in today.
Currently studying M.S. Architecture, University of Houston, USA
holds B.S. Computer Science (Computer Networks & Cybersecurity)
M.S. Cloud Architecture
CEO, Golden Pheasant Chalet
CEO, Ekocba Gyasi Farms ( a 22-acre palm plantation in Ghana)
DevOps Engineer
Retired U.S. Navy Officer — and still very young
His story showed the students what is possible when you refuse to limit your potential. Elvis reminded them that greatness can emerge from anywhere, including right where they are.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX: Building Purpose Beyond the Classroom

🎙 Janice Malachi Phd — International Relations & Professional Development Consultant (Nigeria)
Joining the session virtually from Nigeria, Dr. Malachi delivered a heartfelt conversation on professional development amidst limited resources.
Her guidance helped students see:
How to build themselves even when opportunities feel scarce
How to develop a global mindset
How to invest in their skills and identity early
Her sincerity and clarity truly touched the students.

🎙 Hagan Ntimah — Deputy Director, Art in the Round
Hagan grounded the session with practical wisdom on what it means to think outside the box, highlighting:
How to break away from conventional expectations
How to identify meaningful pathways
How creative and strategic thinking shape long-term success
His insights connected deeply with the students’ real-life experiences.

✨ Impact Highlights
Students engaged actively, asked deep questions, and reflected on their future with new energy.
Many expressed excitement and inspiration during their item 13, showing how much the session resonated.
The conversation created a genuine bridge between school and the world beyond — which is exactly the mission of Art in the Round.

We remain committed to shaping young minds, nurturing creativity, and opening doors of possibility.

Today’s success reminds us of our calling:
Transforming lives through creativity, innovation, and global exposure.
